Pentelikon White Marble Quarry
(2009 data) The Pentelicon white marble quarry is located in Dionyssos suburb of Athens and has a potential annual production of 5000M3 The Dionyssos white marble has a leading position in the decorative stone industry and is suitable for high end applications in villas or monumental buildings. It has been used for the erection of Parthenon as well as of many of the ancient marble monuments in Athens.
We produce slabs and cut to size tiles ready for export
This is quarried at the Dionyssovouni site, Dionyssos, Attica and has the same chemical composition and texture as the Pentelic marble renowned since antiquity. It is characterized by white background colouration with light gray or green banding; it occasionally becomes off-white.
Petrographic definition: Calcite marble
Mineral composition: Principle minerals calcite (> 97%) and dolomite (2%)
